rules for the bardo moth

Stories will post here, and only stories. Narrative, detail, stakes, conflict, resolution, impact. No stand-up, essays, or rants. Funny, insightful and sharp are wonderful, as long as they are part of a story, your own true story. (See the Moth's guidelines for a sense of what we mean. For some excellent examples, listen here or check out these videos.)

Record stories as if you were telling them live to a diverse audience. If you have a real audience, all the better. No notes, on your honor. Consider this practice for a live performance.

The themes and dates in the sidebar are goals for posting, more to come. They are meant to inspire creativity and action. You can submit off theme. All bardo moth posts are at our discretion. The main criteria is "story-ness." As this is a practice forum, we are less concerned with "quality," although we do expect effort. We aim for excellence in storytelling, and support each other in its creation.

(Submit standard mp3 files to bhbardo at gmail dot com. Or wav files if they are 44.1 kHz, 16 bit, stereo. You may also record directly to the podcast by phone.)
